It seemed better in managing the upstream than Xsplit. Compared to those programs the scene/lay-out editing offers less. This is a direct competitor to Xsplit and FFsplit. Only discovered it some days ago, but I love it so far. Multi-cam support, scenes (= switchable layouts) Streaming, Game-recording (hooks into game), screenrecording Due to these huge files, the video quality tends to be quite good. Used this quite a lot before I switched to Bandicam, mainly because of the gigantic files. Game-recording (hooks into DirectX), FPS benchmarks, screenshots Multi-cam support, scenes (= switchable layouts) This is a front-end/user interface for the open source FFMpeg media framework (GNU LGPL 2.1+/GNU GPL 2+, free). Only fiddled with it for a couple of times and quite a while ago, but I doubt I scratched more than the surface. This program comes with a lot of features, such as a video editor. swf/flashĪ limited program, but decent/good for it's purpose Renders the video after the recording, possibility to render to. I make extensive use of the ability to render wav files alongside the video, since it provides more options/control in the editing process. Doing a good job of screenrecording as well. My main choice when it comes to recording ingame-footage. Really handy in case you want to process/edit commentary. Unique in this recorder is that in the audio-settings you're able to choose two different sources and optionally render them to individual. Game-recording (hooks into DirectX) & screen recording I only noticed an FPS drop when using Xsplit, but in their defense: I'm not sure if that's the programs fault. The following table is with Windows-users in mind and includes other options which I haven't used (yet).īy the way: I don't really keep an eye on the resource usages when using these programs, so I didn't include those. For the propriety recorders I have licenses for FRAPS, Bandicam and Xsplit (premium license). So far I've been using/trying FRAPS, Bandicam, OBS, Xsplit, Camstudio and Camtasia (and I think I've doodled with Xfire, but not enough for an opinion).
